Volunteer for Artfalls, the extra hand is always welcomed!!!!
Volunteers are an extremely important part to the overall success of Artfalls. They play a key role, working with the public to ensure safety, security and enjoyment for all who attend. Volunteers work in a variety of areas at the festival, arranging anywhere from Artist Setup/Tear down, manning of water and pop stations, to having a blast with children in the Pavilion Kid's Area, to arranging sets for musical performances. Help is always needed in several areas so if you don't see something you like, ask us and we will see what we can line you up with!!!
Volunteering is fun and a great way to meet new people while
assisting the Artfalls Fine Arts Festival, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization!
What are the requirements for volunteering?
The minimum age for volunteers is 16. Younger volunteers are welcome, but we ask
that they work along with Mom or Dad. Volunteer areas will coincide with age
appropriateness. Volunteers must be able to withstand heat, as Artfalls is an
outdoor 2 day event.
How long do volunteer shifts last?
Volunteer shifts can be Two to Four hours (or more) depending on area and
number of Volunteers.
Artfalls begins at 9am on Saturday June 28th, but our committee members and
volunteers begin working on the set up for the festival as early as 6am Friday
morning. (Any pre-festival assistance you can offer is great!) Artfalls
continues on Sunday June 29 at 10am and goes till 4pm. (Any post-festival
assistance you can offer would also be very welcomed!)
Do I get anything for volunteering at Artfalls?
Because we deeply appreciate the assistance that our volunteers bring to our
event, along with that "warm and fuzzy" feeling for helping out one
South Dakota's fastest growing Fine Arts Festivals, the Artfalls committee is
working on the best way to thank those who helped out during the festival. During certain Volunteer shifts, lunch
MAY be
provided. You will also be allowed a soda/water during your shift, more then one
depending on how long your shift may be. You will also get to join in on the
Artist Reception where small food items are also served.
Will I be trained to perform my job?
Of course. Depending on the area you are assigned to work, your training will be
held before your shift. We ask that all volunteers who assist during the event,
arrive at the Information Booth 15 min before the start of your shift. From
there, you will be directed to the area where you will be helping and the
current volunteer staff will cover over all steps with you! So make sure to
arrive early as it makes a world of difference!!!
Who do I contact if I have more questions?
Please refer to our contact page if you should have any questions about
volunteering. We you may call our office or send an e-mail.
Either way, one of our Reps will be in touch with you shortly.
